Our small trainee group sizes and close attention to the needs of our students will ensure that you receive the personal attention and support needed to meet the challenges of the course.
Our experienced teacher trainers are knowledgeable, passionate and dedicated to giving our CELTA candidates the best training available. The Stafford House CELTA has been designed to ensure our candidates access a quality curriculum for the duration of the course.
Our school is situated in Bloomsbury, just a couple of minutes’ walk from Holborn Station or Tottenham Court Road Station in “mid-town”. We are close to the British Museum and other major attractions and shopping areas so it is a perfect place to begin your CELTA adventure.
We provide guidance on finding jobs and the broad range of career opportunities and specialisations that exist within ELT. In addition, Stafford House International is part of Cambridge Education group, which employs 400 English language teachers in the UK, and more in North America. We recruit strong candidates directly from our CELTA courses to work in our junior summer programmes and year round adult schools, and once you’re part of the Stafford House family, there are numerous career paths for English language teachers.
If you are interested in achieving a CELTA you should consider these entry requirements and standard English levels.
- English language proficiency at C1 or C2 Cambridge English levels
- Minimum age of 18
- Similar education experience needed for higher education
- The potential to become an effective English Language teacher
- The ability to complete assignments and assessments
- The ability to research and understand grammar
- Adequate competence in written and spoken English
Part Time, Full Time or Online
Our programmes vary and can be as flexible as you need to reach your CELTA goals. We want our trainees to feel confident when they select a Stafford House program that it will be the right fit for them.
Full Time CELTA
If you want to finish your CELTA quickly with daily classes and shorter length programme, studying full time is right for you. Our full time programme is four weeks long and a minimum or 120 Hours. Your class schedule would be Monday - Friday, 09:30 am – 17:30 pm (one hour lunch break)
Part Time CELTA
Are you currently working full time and are looking to complete your CELTA in your free time? Our CELTA part time programme is a good fit for trainees looking for evening and weekend classes. Our part time programme is twelve weeks (a minimum of 120 hours) and the classes are Mondays and Wednesdays, 18:30 pm – 21:30 pm, and every second Saturday, 10.00 am – 17:30 pm (one hour lunch break).
Our online programme is a mix of the part time and online classes. 12 weeks (a minimum of 120 hours) The CELTA classes require four to six hours per week of online studies at a time that is convenient for you. Every Saturday there are in-person classes from 10:00 am – 17:00 pm (one hour lunch break)
