Accommodation

Where you live is key to your happiness and academic success. Whether you prefer the independence of a student residence or the familiarity of homestay, our accommodation options are chosen to offer you the flexibility of choice and quality you deserve.

Homestay

One of our most popular accommodation options, homestay allows you to integrate into family life and practise your English language outside the classroom, over dinner and throughout the weekend with your welcoming hosts. This is a unique way to live and study at your chosen destination.

Student house

Similar to a residence but offering more independence, you will live with other students but on a smaller scale than in a residence, allowing you to build lasting friendships with your house mates. Fully furnished and equipped for self-catering.

STUDENT HOUSE - MONTAGUE LODGE

Premium Residence

Recently constructed in summer 2016, Student Castle is one of the finest examples of modern accommodation for students in Cambridge. Only moments from Jesus Green, and less than 15 minutes walking distance from the school and the city centre, students can benefit from contemporary and comfortable living in this central location.

PREMIUM RESIDENCE - STUDENT CASTLE

Summer Residence 18+

Offering you more space to yourself, our hand-picked student residences provide the chance to live more independently with like-minded people from all over the world.

SUMMER RESIDENCE 18+

Summer Residence 16-17

We offer fully supervised residences for 16 & 17 year olds in July and August. This comes with a bespoke social programme designed for this age group as well as full board catering.

The residences include breakfast, lunch and dinner at Stafford House canteen and live-in residential supervisors. This is a great alternative to homestay for students under 18.

Meet our team

All of our teachers hold teaching qualifications ranging from certificate to diploma level and are committed to continuous development and share our passion for learning with our students.

  • Adam Bandstra

    Principal

After graduating from university with a degree in literature, I moved from my home in the USA to Southern Germany. My plan was to teach there for one year and return to America to continue my studies. But, I liked teaching too much.  One year turned into five, and then 10, and now almost 15 years in English language training and I’ve never looked back.  The reasons I have never looked back are the motivated students and teachers who inspire me.  My goal is simply to inspire them just as much as they inspire me.

In Germany, the USA, and India, I have been really fortunate to work with a huge variety of learners: managers, artists, explorers, train conductors, mayors, musicians, doctors, florists, programmers, and, and, and – Every one of them with their own unique experiences.  Now I have the pleasure of hosting learners as they gain new and exciting experiences in Cambridge while they work toward achieving their unique language goals.

So, I am happy I get to work with different international people because if I can help them to achieve their goals and find their perfect university place or job or life, then I have found mine.

  • Lucy Pereira

    Director of Studies

My first job after I finished my BA in German and Music was as an English language teacher and I immediately knew it was the perfect job for me. Teaching English was just so much fun from the beginning, and so rewarding. I've taught people of so many nationalities and learners with a diverse range of needs and interests - from absolute beginner to practically native speaker, from IELTS, TOEFL and Cambridge Exams to specialist Business English or English for Special Purposes courses, from large groups of thirty to one-to-one courses.

Before coming to Stafford House Cambridge, I also worked as a Teacher Trainer, an Assistant Director of Studies and a Director of Studies. I taught for over 10 years in Germany and for 7 years in London. I've lived on three continents, travelled in five, and one of the reasons why I love what I do here is that I get to talk to people from all over the world every day! Finding out more about cultures, customs and languages is an added bonus in this job.

But the best part is that I get to see teachers develop their skills so that they can help students progress. By working together with both teachers and students, I do what I can to help you really improve your English skills so that you get the most out of your time in the UK. I understand how each and every person is different and that language development is a very individual journey. Sometimes you may need a bit of extra advice about which path to take and I'm happy to help you decide what's best for you and give you some tips for organising your studies.

I'm excited to be part of the Stafford House team in Cambridge and I look forward to seeing you here!
