Step 2 – Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by our Talent Acquisition Lead or the Hiring Manager for a brief, initial chat. If you are successful, we will arrange a remote interview via Teams

Step 3 – Your interview will take place via Teams or in-person. Interviews usually take 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Step 4 – If you are successful at interview, you will be contacted by the Line Manager. You will then be made an official offer via email. Once you have accepted, our friendly Talent Team will be in contact to introduce themselves and support you with your required pre-employment checks. You can only start work once all pre-employment checks are complete.

Step 5 – You must present all related documents on your first day at the centre, if you are unable to produce these at an early stage. We will provide clear instructions for this ahead of time.

Teachers: If you would like to apply for an academic role, you must have an accredited TEFL-i qualification, such as the *Cambridge CELTA or the Trinity CertTESOL. Other qualifications, such a PGCE with QTS in MFL with a TESOL component, English or Primary education or similar, are also accepted. We also welcome newly qualified teachers as we offer full support and a comprehensive syllabus. We can accept TEFL qualifications providing your course included 6-hours of observed teaching practice and this can be evidenced. .

Non-Teaching roles: Please see the specific job description for more information on qualifications and experience required. Non-management Activities and Welfare employees don’t need specific experience a particular subject of study however similar work experience is highly desirable.

We have our own in-house materials for each level which focus on speaking, listening, vocabulary and British culture. These are supplemented by activities from published materials, as well as project work. We expect the syllabus to be followed, but there is also the opportunity for you to personalise the lessons according to the students’ needs.

Teachers are welcome to bring their own materials to supplement the existing syllabus; however, this isn’t necessary as each centre has its own extensive library of published resource books which you may use.

Most contracts are 4-6 weeks long. You must be available throughout July as a minimum. This can vary according to the centre and then needs of the school. There is a possibility for contracts to be extended during the summer, into late August, particularly if you are flexible with location.

Single rooms are provided for residential staff at the majority of our centres. Full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner) is provided. Bed linen is provided at each centre but you will need to bring your own towels.

All staff are entitled to pay for pay in lieu of any unspent holidays. This is paid at the end of the contract.

Stafford House International: are year-round schools, therefore your payroll is monthly and pay in lieu of unspent holidays is paid in your final payroll of the summer.

Stafford House Study Holidays: are pop-up centres who cater specifically over the summer holidays, therefore your payroll is bi-weekly and pay in lieu of unspent holidays is paid in your final payroll of the summer.

Staff who return to Stafford House for their second or subsequent summer are eligible for a loyalty bonus, as we anticipate that returning members of staff will share their knowledge with new colleagues. Staff who worked for us in the previous year will be complete a brief, fast track application form and shorter interview, designed for our returning team.
