Immerse yourself in historic Cambridge

I’m Mike and I’ve been in the English language teaching industry for 35 years –I love it! I’ve been working in Cambridge since 2003, so I’m familiar with the city and all the things that contribute to a great student experience, from accommodation to social activities and feeling safe and happy in a new place. Here at Stafford House Cambridge we have a strong focus on learning and will work extremely hard to ensure students achieve their learning objectives.

Before coming to Cambridge I worked as a Teacher Trainer and before that I spent ten years as a teacher in Turkey, Italy and South Korea. My strongest memory is the kindness of strangers and now as Principal I can guarantee a warm welcome and on-going support from the excellent team in Cambridge. I am the Designated Safeguarding Lead for Cambridge.

I’ve been working in English language teaching for 12 years, and for the past 3 I’ve been lucky enough to call Cambridge my home. I love the international atmosphere of the school—meeting people from all over the world, sharing my culture with them, and learning about theirs in return. It’s incredibly rewarding to help students grow in confidence, improve their English, and feel more at home in a new country. I look forward to meeting you in Cambridge!

I first moved to Cambridge when I was 18 to study my English Language degree and complete my CELTA. That was years ago and I am still here! I look forward to welcoming new students to the school and sharing my love for Cambridge with everyone. I am the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead for Cambridge.

Having studied abroad in the United States, I appreciated the support I received while adjusting to life in a new country. When I returned home, I wanted to offer that same support to others. I began volunteering at my university, helping international students settle into life in the UK. Now, I’m fortunate to continue that work every day at Stafford House. I look forward to welcoming and supporting students from around the world!

Hi, I’m Sabrina. As a former international student, I have always liked to meet people from all around the world and to learn different culture and languages. I understand it’s not an easy thing to become familiar with a new city and new people. However, everyone at Stafford House Cambridge is more than happy to welcome you and help you to integrate into our big family. After living in Cambridge for six years, it is still an amazing city with countless things to discover. I can’t wait to see you in Cambridge and get to know you!

I first discovered what a language school was when I did an internship as part of my Applied Linguistics Master’s degree. I worked as an activity coordinator, a receptionist and a marketing assistant in a small family-run language school in the centre of Wellington, New Zealand. This is when I decided I wanted to play a part in the English Learning world! Nothing makes me happier than to see students noticing their progress and growing on a linguistic and personal level. I hope to meet you soon at Stafford House Cambridge!

After completing a degree in French I initially trained as an English teacher as a means to travel the world, I now can’t imagine doing anything else. I love meeting people from all over the world and sharing in the interesting ideas and perspectives, which they bring to the classroom. I also love English and sharing it with the students in my classes is my idea of heaven.

I grew up in Cambridge and have always loved my city! After completing my degree in Psychology, I knew I wanted to work in a role that supported people and helped them feel at home. I look forward to welcoming you at Stafford House, helping you settle in, and making sure you enjoy both the school and the city.
