Study English in London

I have been an English teacher for over twenty years, with experience teaching all classes and levels here in London, as well as teaching Business English in Paris. I have a Cambridge Delta and a Masters in Applied Linguistics from Queen Mary, University of London. I am now responsible for the Professional Certificates here at Stafford House., as well as our Business English courses.

I love helping people achieve their goals, whether that is just improving their English, or using their language skills to get a new job, perform better in their current job, start a new business or study at university. I have taught everyone from telecoms engineers to senior politicians, lawyers to Premiership footballers. Everyone learns differently, but with hard work, I believe that everyone can reach their goals.

London is a fantastic place to study, with its long history, rich culture and endless attractions. It is where history meets the present, and where people from all over the world can come together from all over the world to build the future.

I’m a Londoner with a huge passion for languages and travelling the world. I’ve been teaching since 2018 and my career has taken me from the UK to Vietnam, where I spent a year teaching. I’ve taught learners from hundreds of countries and of all ages, and I love creating a welcoming classroom environment by helping all my students build confidence. I’m especially interested in celebrating the cultural diversity that international students bring to a classroom. When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me exploring new places, trying new dishes, or planning my next adventure.

Hi! I’m Douglas and I’m from the beautiful historic city of Oxford. I am a teacher here at Stafford House and I aim to make my lessons interesting, helpful and interactive for the students. Working at Stafford House is great because of the school’s international environment.

I love seeing students from such different countries come to this lovely corner of Central London to improve their English skills. Plus, the mix of cultures always produces fascinating conversations in the classroom. The best feeling for me is when students leave the classroom with more confidence speaking English. It’s also great to see students discover all the wonderful things in London and the UK during their time here. See you in the classroom!

Hello! I’m Erma and I’m from London. I love introducing students to my incredible city – there’s always something to explore, whether it’s the history, the food or just the atmosphere.

I’m passionate about teaching English and creating a relaxed, friendly classroom where everyone feels at ease to speak and learn. The best part of my job is my students – I love hearing about their cultures and languages, and I learn something new every day!

For me, learning English should be enjoyable as well as useful, and I’m here to help you feel confident and have fun along the way!

I am a lover of all things language and culture! I studied languages myself at university then began my career in marketing, working on some cool events and projects including a company rebrand.

Wanting to travel and try something new, in 2025 I decided to spend six months teaching at two English schools in São Paulo, Brazil, which was an incredible experience. On my return to the UK, I was delighted to join Stafford House and have been teaching here since, including General English, Exams, and Business classes.

One of the amazing things about this school is its sense of community; people from all over the world are made to feel welcomed, supported and connected with one another. We can’t wait for you to join us!

I was born in London and have always loved being part of such a diverse and welcoming city. I taught English in Japan while I was at university, but I qualified as an English teacher in 2019, after my first career with the British government. Now I specialise in teaching professional English, but I enjoy meeting all our students in every class and every activity we do.

My academic background is in languages, so I understand the challenges you might face, and I’ll be proud to support you to make the most of your time here.

Jane brings exceptional business and teaching experience to our Professional Certificate courses.  Drawing on her years spent working in the City of London, the heart of European business and finance, Jane delivers Professional and business courses that have real impact.

I’ve been with Stafford House since 2013 and must be one of the oldest-serving staff members here. I’ve taught all levels on the General English programme as well as Cambridge and IELTS exam classes and enjoy them all and the different challenges they pose for me as a teacher. I’m also a CELTA Trainer and enjoy training new teachers from all over the world. Teaching and training at Stafford House London allows me to work in an environment surrounded by staff and students that share my passion for language learning and communication.

When I’m not at Stafford House, you’ll probably fine me teaching a yoga class or reading a good book so if you want to know where the best yoga studios and book shops are in London then feel free to ask me! I look forward to welcoming you to Stafford House London!

I’m a Londoner with Hungarian roots — I have taught many types of classes and people across both London and Hungary. I really enjoy encouraging people to learn new ways of communicating in English & new ways to think, to be, and to develop their identity. Who might you be in your first language, and who might you become in English? 

I love London because this city truly allows many different parts of a person to come to life in a colourful way.

My teaching experience ranges from all levels of General English to Business and Exam English. I am also a Speaking Examiner and the Centre Exams Manager here at Stafford House, supporting students to have a smooth & positive exam experience if they choose to get an exam certificate as a meaningful milestone in their English language journey!

I have been a teacher at Stafford House since 2017 and still look forward to coming into school every day. Before standing regularly in a classroom I lived and worked in Paris, where Mickey Mouse was my boss!  He was so much fun. Teaching may be different but it, too, is so much fun. I teach a range of subjects including General English, Business English, Exam classes and Professional Certificate Courses. It’s great to bring my previous experience into the classroom and to share it with the amazing knowledge all our students bring with them. I’m a DELTA-qualified teacher with over 15 years of experience in the ELT sector, with a wide range of areas of interests from IELTS to main suite exams and General English. I am the IELTS Subject Leader at Stafford House London, so please ask me any questions you’d like about this exam, and I’ll help you get the score you need. I’m a Londoner who loves London town and all its history and culture. I’ve been with Stafford House since May 2016 and think this is the best school in London! Over the last few years, I’ve taught English in many different schools around the world, and I still love meeting new people every week.

Since starting at Stafford House, I have taught many different courses including the Professional Certificate courses in Marketing and Project Management, and Business English. I’m originally from Spain and have been teaching English in London for the past few years. I really enjoy working with international students and helping them feel more confident using English in real-life situations.

My classes are interactive, relaxed, and focused on speaking. I encourage students to communicate as much as possible, have fun, and not be afraid of making mistakes – that’s an important part of learning.

I especially enjoy seeing students grow in confidence and start expressing themselves more naturally. I’m also always happy to share my favourite food spots in London! I’m very proud to be part of Stafford House and to work with students from all over the world.

I’m originally from Australia, but I moved to London in 2015 and quickly fell in love with how lively and dynamic the city is. There’s always something happening here, and I enjoy being part of such an international community.

Over the years, I’ve taught all levels of General English, as well as exam preparation classes for IELTS and the Cambridge exams. I really enjoy helping students build their confidence and achieve their goals, whether that’s improving their everyday communication skills or getting the scores they need for university or work.

Recently, I became a teacher trainer, which means I now also support and develop new teachers as they begin their careers. I love working at Stafford House because I can meet people from all over the world and learn just as much from my students as they learn from me.
