London Academic Explorer

Our specialist summer programme for young learners who want to achieve their best - the London Academic Explorer Programme gives 14-17 years olds the skills they need to succeed in their education.

Course Features

This is a demanding academic programme, focussing on intercultural communicative success in English, with outcomes focused on the successful communication of group work objectives through the acquisition of presentation skills. Half-day activities are tied in to learning objectives enabling learning outside the classroom to combine with exploring the great city of London. Evening activities and weekend excursions are pure fun and excitement!

  • Project based format where students work in groups exclusively in English from breakfast to bed-time
  • Focus on academic note-taking to prepare them for Higher Education in English.
  • Focus on spoken performance - skills to deliver success in later academic and professional life
  • Focus on successful communication across cultures - making communication effective
  • Students will elave with confidence about what they can achieve in English and receive a video record of their final presentation to take home to their families and schools

Activities

  • Half-day excursions feature academic and cultural learning objectives that will inform and inspire the academic programme as well as familiarising students with one of the world’s greatest cities
  • Evening activities are energetic, social and pure fun - highlights are a West End Musical, Disco and “Freejumping” Trampolining even
  • Weekend Excursions are stimulating with Saturday offering a mix of exploration and learning whereas Sunday is more relaxing and fun.
